Skilled workers have education, work experience, knowledge of English or French, and other abilities that will help them to establish themselves successfully as permanent residents in Canada. Your application to come to Canada as a skilled worker will be assessed on six selection factors and a point system.
The six selection factors are: - Your education
- Your abilities in English and/or French, Canada's two official languages
- Your experience
- Your age
- Whether you have arranged employment in Canada
- Your adaptability
You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada, and pass a medical examination and security and criminal checks. Simplified application process: As of September 01,2006 The simplified application process came into effect .This process speeds up your application processing as you are not required to submit all your documents at the time of applying. You just need to make an assessment that you have enough points to qualify and submit the application along with the fee. This helps you get into the queue and not spend more time in collecting all the documentation. |
